چکیده

The need for freshwater supplies is increasingly rising according to the increase in inhabitants’ expansion and economic growth. Available water resources are reduced by pollution overpumping. This research’s prime objective study changes quality of Pleistocene aquifer Minia Governorate. Historical hydro-chemical data groundwater two years 2009 2019 were used under impact recharge discharge processes. Nile River, Al-Ibrahimia Bahr Youssef Canals considered main sources recharge. Collected from 53 wells calculate sodium adsorption ratio (SAR), percentage (Na%), Kelly index (KI), Soluble Sodium Percentage (SSP), magnesium (MR%), permeability (PI) chloro-alkaline (CAI). These evaluate detect through using spatial mapping geographic information system (GIS). values SAR, KI Na% varied between 0.06–1.22, 0.02–0.57 meq/L 3.7–37.63%, respectively, year 2009, but these changed 0.4–0.75, 0.16–0.28 15.07–23.44% 2019. calculated MR PI indicate that 100% samples “suitable” category. SSP reflects no alkalinity analysis studied (G.W.) shows high levels caused Pb Fe some parts area. was found be >40 µg/L middle parts, whereas with 27% samples. localities affected industrial wastewater sugar factory Abou-Qarqas city (e.g., El-Moheet drain), fertilizer leaching process pesticides seeping into soils agricultural wastewater.

Detection of West Nile virus in wild birds in Tana River and Garissa Counties, Kenya

BACKGROUND West Nile fever virus is a zoonotic arboviral infection maintained in a sylvatic cycle involving mosquito vectors and birds. It is one the arboviruses whose geographical range is expanding because of climate and land use changes that enhance the densities of mosquitoes and promote mosquito-bird-human interactions. We carried out a survey to determine the reservoirs of WNV among wild ...

West Nile Virus Detection in Urine

We report West Nile virus (WNV) RNA in urine collected from a patient with encephalitis 8 days after symptom onset. Viral RNA was detected by reverse transcriptase-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR). Sequence and phylogenetic analysis confirmed the PCR product to have > or = 99% similarity to the WNV strain NY 2000-crow3356.

West Nile Virus Detection in American Crows

A dipstick immunochromatographic assay used for West Nile virus (WNV) detection in mosquitoes was investigated for application to testing of fecal, saliva, and tissue samples from dead American Crows (Corvus brachyrhynchos). Results suggest that VecTest may be an efficient method for WNV detection in field-collected, dead American Crows, although confirmation of results and further investigatio...

Rapid West Nile Virus Antigen Detection

We compared the VecTest WNV antigen assay with standard methods of West Nile virus (WNV) detection in swabs from American Crows (Corvus brachyrhynchos) and House Sparrows (Passer domesticus). The VecTest detected WNV more frequently than the plaque assay and was comparable to a TaqMan reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction.
